WHS Senior Erianne Adams Signs To Play Tennis @ CCCC

Signings continued today at WHS. Senior Erianne Adams signed a letter of intent to play Tennis at Cowley County Community College beginning in the Fall and has made a verbal commitment as well to play basketball. Present at the signing were Erianne's parents Eric and Coni Adams, WHS Head Girls Tennis Coach Brian Aufdengarten, WHS Asst Girls Tennis Coach Daphne Adams and WHS Athletic Director Brian Buchanan. Congratulations Erianne - we wish you the best!!!

"Signings" At WHS Wednesday

"2" Crusaders signed letters of intent Wednesday out at WHS to play football at two area colleges. Early on Wednesday, WHS Senior Taylan Ybarra signed to play football at Hutchinson Community Junior College. Present at Taylan's signing were his parents Jesse Ybarra and Melissa Ybarra, his granddad Socko Ybarra and Wellington HS Head and Asst Football Coaches Dylan Schmidt and T.D. Buck.

WMS Basketball Pioneer League Tourney Pairings Released

The post season, Pioneer League Basketball Tournament for 7th and 8th grade girls and boys begins this Saturday at 2 locations. 8th grade girls and boys will play in El Dorado, 7th grade girls and boys will play in Rose Hill. Here is a general breakdown on what's to come:

7th Grade Girls (13-0) #1 seed – play Sat. 9am vs Ark City 0-13 @ Rose Hill Intermediate Gym. If they win will play again Monday @ 5PM – same location.

Lady Crusaders Bring Home The Hardware

The WHS Lady Crusader Varsity Girls basketball squad made it 3-0 in tourney play at the Mulvane Wildcat Classic Saturday evening, defeating Garden Plain 39-33 in the Championship Game to WIN IT ALL! On the season, the ladies advance to 11-2.

The announcement was made Friday at WHS and the annual coronation will take place following the boys varsity basketball game vs Andale on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 in the main gym at WHS. Lady Crusaders Advance To Championship Game On Saturday

The WHS Lady Crusader Varsity Basketball squad won easily Thursday evening in 2nd round action at the annual Mulvane Wildcat Classic at Mulvane High School. After an easy win over Ark City earlier in the week, the Ladies advanced their season record to 10-2 defeating 2nd round opponent Wichita Southeast - final score 58-30!

WHS Scholars Bowl Team Fares Well At AVCTL League Meet

Congratulations to the WHS Scholars’ Bowl team, who placed 3rd at the 12-team AVCTL DIV IV Tournament on Wednesday, January 25. Each school in Division IV may take up to three teams to the league competition.  WHS took two teams this year composed of varsity and junior varsity members. 
 

E. Lincoln Fire Keeps Crews Busy Wednesday Morning (Updated)

City of Wellington Fire and Police personnel responded to a structure fire at 816 E. Lincoln at 9:48am Wednesday morning. Flames in the attic and roof area were visible and large amounts of smoke poured from the structure as Wellington Fire Dept.
