Tatum Boyd Signs With Stanford University
Tatum Boyd, a senior at Plano TX. West High School, had been officially committed to play softball in the Stanford University. Tatum is the daughter of W.H.S. 1981 graduate, Darren Boyd and his wife Kelly. Tatum, was 1st Team all district & 1st Team All Academic. Pitching for Team Mizuno Impulse, they finished 9th nationally. Tatum went 13-2, 1.07 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, .138 Opp BA. She also hit .344 against the nation’s best teams this past summer. Starting her softball competition early, she was 12U World Series MVP.
Tatum said, “I am blessed and extremely excited to announce my commitment to Stanford University where I will further my academic and softball career in the Pac 12 conference.”
It’s a big week for the Boyd family as this weekend Tatum’s dad, Darren, is to be inducted in the Southwestern College Athletic Hall of Fame. Boyd played four years of tennis at Southwestern in Winfield, KS, where he was an ALL-KCAC performer and an All-Academic team member for all four seasons as well as a NAIA Regional finalist three years & KCAC Champion his senior year.
Darren is the son of Alda Boyd, Wellington, and the late Bill Boyd.
